Curriculum

Our curriculum meets the requirements of the State of Wisconsin and curriculum of the Lutheran Schools established by the National Lutheran Accreditation Board. This includes instruction in God's Word, Reading, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Spelling, Social Studies, Music, Physical Education, Art and Computers.

3K Program

Enrollment for Zion's 3K program begins at the end of each January. In this 2-day a week program you can expect structured learning time, free-time to interact with other children, time spent in song and movement, as well as playtime.

This program will introduce your child to the concepts of school, as well as build friendships and social skills. Because our mission at Zion is to Equip Generations for Life in Christ, we will not only educate the earliest of learners in the basics, but also teach them and their families about our Savior Jesus! This program will be housed in our remodeled parsonage building with its own, fenced-in playground. The children will have the opportunity at times to visit the 4K-8th grade building to attend special events with the older kids! The program will be full-days on Tuesday and Thursday.

If you have any questions, or would like to schedule a tour, please send us a message or give the office a call at

Having been a part of the Wayside community since birth and baptism, I can confidently say it has played an integral role in shaping both my academic and athletic success. The school's dedication to nurturing faith alongside education has provided me with invaluable tools for navigating the world. Despite exploring other options post-college, I always found myself returning to Wayside, a testament to its enduring impact. Now, as a parent, I'm thrilled to see my children benefiting from the same strong Christian values and academic excellence. The daycare, with its safe and fun Christian environment, is an added blessing. Proud to be a part of the Wayside family!

Mallary Schenian

As a Zion school board member, public school worker, and mother, I have many perspectives on what makes a school exceptional. What makes Zion exceptional? We know that Zion has an amazing staff and an environment that facilitates academic excellence, but what makes Zion truly exceptional is God using this place as a tool to grow and spread His love. It is through His love that we see the many blessings in our students. I see it in the simple everyday things in my home. It is my daughter quickly turning to prayer when she is struggling or the little “discussions’’ between my children at the table on what prayer should be said to glorify Him. It is my daughter using the light she has in God’s truth to comfort a grieving family member or singing about Jesus’ love in the car. Matt and I believe strongly in Zion Lutheran School-Wayside and how it is truly equipping our children to have a life in Christ.

I am excited to see what opportunities God will provide Zion Wayside. It is exciting to think about future expansions, but I am also excited by the opportunities we will have to come together as a community and show our love and support for God and His plans for Zion.
