Stuck
And he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”. - John 1:36
LENT DEVOTIONS

Have you ever gotten a song stuck in your head? At different times and seasons of the year it may be easier to get a song ‘stuck’. I know at Christmastime I find myself humming “O Holy Night” often. “Now Thank We All Our God” is a favorite of mine during the month of November, and the Alleluia in “Jesus Christ is Risen Today” is often stuck (and sung loudly) during the Easter season.
When I was asked to write this devotion, I began to think about Lent and what it means. As I was pondering about a topic, I realized I have the hymn, “The Lamb”, on repeat in my head. This is a great hymn that I look forward to seeing listed in the bulletin. The message of the song is simple and powerful! Worthy is the Lamb, whose death made me His own! The Lamb is reigning on His throne!
As I will be singing this on repeat for the next few days, I will have this reminder that Jesus (the Lamb) died and rose for me and sits on His throne in Heaven. What a wonderful thought to have ‘stuck’ in my head.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, during Lent, let the song in our hearts and heads remind us of the work of your son Jesus on the cross. May we reflect on his sacrifice as The Lamb, but also look forward to singing of his resurrection on Easter Morning. Amen.
