If you’ve made it this far, you’ve made it to part two of the “Ellington goes trick or treating” saga. Through much convincing and coaxing (and maybe carrying a screaming child down the sidewalk) we finally got our adorable little octopus to the next house, where she realized that the first house we stopped at wasn’t the only one that had candy. Hesitantly, she accepted the candy and put it in her bucket. And then noticed that her brothers ran to the next house, and those people were also handing out candy. It finally started to click, that maybe if she just kept going, she could fill up the whole bucket, and have more than just one piece of candy at her disposal.

The same holds true for us in our daily lives. Often, we get so caught up in what’s happening right now that we can’t see any further to what could possibly be in the future. Even when it feels like nothing is going our way or everything is falling apart, God has a plan for us. A plan to renew and restore us, and to reveal His perfect plan to us.

Prayer:
Gracious God, when we can’t see Your perfect plan for us for ourselves, please be with us, and renew and restore our faith in you. Amen
