Milorganite

Milorganite. When you first hear this, what do you think it is? If you know me, you might think it’s something from a cave or some type of mineral. When I think of Milorganite, I think about the ways that the devil tries to fool us. He uses deception and distorted truth like he did to Adam and Eve when he convinced them to eat of the tree of knowledge, Genesis chapter 3. He uses distraction and temptation like he tried to do to Jesus during His 40 days of fasting. He showed Him the grandeur of the world and told Him that it could all be His, Matthew Chapter 4. He uses discouragement and doubt to try to convince us that we are unworthy of God’s grace.

The good news for us is that we are restored through Jesus' death and resurrection. None of Satan’s efforts to lead us to condemnation will win. What about milorganite? Milorganite has also been changed from its original state. Although not returning to its original perfect form. Milorganite is sewage that is slowly turned into a nitrogen rich fertilizer through composting. The company that markets this product deceives, distracts and discourages you in an effort to convince you that this is a product that you need. They give it a nicer sounding name, tell you that it is great for your garden and tell you that by using this product you save space in the landfill. I am not saying that you shouldn’t buy it, just know to look for the truth. When the devil tries to trick us into sin, look for the truth. Know that no matter how ugly as dirt our sin is, we are still fully restored through Christ Jesus.

Dear Lord, protect me from the deception, distraction and discouragement of the devil. Remind me that I am perfect and restored in you! Amen
